At GigHound, we work hard to keep our community safe and secure for everyone. As an employer, it is critical that GigHound is able to confidently verify your identity before you are able to work with us. This is why we require you to provide us with your government-issued identification.

How it works
All workers must provide a government-issued ID to work for GigHound. Your identification will be checked to ensure that you are who you say you are, and it will never be shared without your consent.
If a background check or security clearance is required for a shift, GigHound may be required to share your ID with the company or governing agencies. Before taking these shifts, we will ask for your permission to share this information.
Confirm Your identity
When GigHound asks you to confirm your identity, you must submit a picture of yourself and a photo of your government-issued ID. This could be a driver’s license, passport, or identity card.
The photo that you take of yourself will be used as your profile photo and will be used to identify you on the worksite. Please ensure that this photo is appropriate and professional.
What gets shared with businesses
Depending on the nature of the work, we may be obligated to share more or less information with the businesses with which you will be working. It is our policy to only share information that is needed for operations and to never provide more information than is required.
However, we do share:
- Your first and last name
- The photo of yourself that was matched to your ID
In addition, in circumstances where security clearance or screening is required, we may be requested to supply a copy of your government-issued ID and/or work permit (if applicable). This information is only provided to businesses that are mandated by governing authorities to identify workers on their worksite.
Storing and removing the photo of your ID
The storage and removal of your government-issued ID photo are governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes our efforts to protect your information.
