How to submit your ID

Reminder: The photo you take of yourself will be used as your GigHound profile picture.

  1. Tap your profile icon on the top left-hand corner of the GigHound app.
  2. Select Personal Info.
  3. Tap on Identity verification.
  4. Choose an approved government-issued ID.
  5. Line up your ID to fit within the provided frame and take a picture.
  6. When you are satisfied with the picture of your ID, tap Next. 
  7. Now, take a photo of yourself and tap Next.
  8. When you are satisfied with the photo of yourself, tap Next. 
  9. ID verification will automatically run and complete within a few seconds.

  3. Tap on Identity verification.
  4. Choose an approved government-issued ID.
  5. Line up your ID to fit within the provided frame and take a picture.
  6. When you are satisfied with the picture of your ID, tap Next. 
  7. Now, take a photo of yourself and tap Next.
  8. When you are satisfied with the photo of yourself, tap Next. 
  9. ID verification will automatically run and complete within a few seconds.

 

Possible outcomes:

  • Verified: Your identity is successfully verified. You can now continue your account verification or take your first shift.
  • Failed: If your ID cannot be verified, you will be asked to submit a new photo of your ID and a new picture of yourself. Here are some helpful hints to consider. If you've tried again and still can't get your ID verified, tap Request help. Your ID verification photos will be sent to a GigHound representative and reviewed within 24 hours.
  • Duplicate ID: Have you submitted your ID to GigHound before? With GigHound, each worker can only have one account. Your ID verification photos will be automatically sent to a GigHound representative, who will review them within 24 hours. If the account is a duplicate, it will be deactivated, leaving the main account active.
  • Duplicate ID (suspended account): You will not be able to create a new account if you are currently suspended by GigHound. Due to a violation of our Terms of Service, your ID verification photos will be automatically sent to a GigHound representative, and both accounts will be deactivated.

 

Having trouble? Try these:

  • Grant camera permission: The GigHound app needs permission to access your camera. Once you grant permission, GigHound can access your camera for the picture.

  • Use high-quality photos: Take photos in a well-lit room, ensuring that your face is centered in the frame, focused, and not covered. Religious head coverings are welcome, but please ensure we see your eyes, nose, and mouth.

  • Submit photos of an original (not photocopied) or undamaged government-issued ID: We need a picture of an original document to ensure a smooth verification process. 

  • Valid ID: Check to ensure your ID is valid and not expired.
